Why Ice Cube's political logic is so dangerous
Ice Cube's words and actions imply that Democrats and Republicans are interchangeable on race, says Peniel Joseph. In taking that position, Cube is doing more than discounting the GOP's racist track record, argues Joseph; he is joining a long and troubling history of Black activists attempting to negotiate with racist White politicians -- and he's implicitly dismissing the Black women who have been working within the Democratic Party and leading the Black Lives Matter movement to make transformative change.
