UEFA estudia un regreso «reducido» de los espectadores en la Supercopa de Europa

La UEFA se reunió este miércoles con los secretarios generales de la federaciones miembro para tratar, consultar y debatir sobre «el posible regreso gradual de los aficionados a los partidos» y «sugirió emplear la Supercopa» de Europa del 24 de septiembre en Budapest como encuentro «piloto», con la «entrada de un número reducido de espectadores». Así lo explicó el organismo en un comunicado, en el que insistió en que la primera cita de este curso de la Liga de Naciones, prevista para principios de septiembre, sería «muy pronto para permitir» la entrada de aficionados a los estadios, y avanzó que «se deberían realizar partido(s) de prueba para estudiar con precisión el impacto de los espectadores en los protocolos médicos actuales». En ese sentido, «sugirió emplear la Supercopa de la UEFA, que se jugará el 24 de septiembre en Budapest, como partido piloto en el que se podría permitir la entrada de un número reducido de espectadores», según expone en la nota de prensa tras el encuentro, cuyo «resultado se presentará al Comité Ejecutivo en los próximos días para que se tomen decisiones acerca de los asuntos tratados». «Los participantes de la reunión de hoy subrayaron la necesidad de que se apliquen medidas higiénicas y sanitarias estrictas para garantizar la salud de todos los presentes en un partido antes de permitir el regreso de los aficionados», explicó el organismo. A la vez, durante la videoconferencia, también se debatió «la cuestión de la cuarentena de los jugadores» por la incidencia de la Covid-19 y las restricciones en algunos países, «en particular para los partidos de las selecciones nacionales con jugadores procedentes de clubes extranjeros que podrían correr el riesgo de ser sometidos a medidas de cuarentena al regresar a su país de residencia». «Se alentó a las federaciones miembro a que se dirigieran a sus gobiernos para solicitar exenciones para los jugadores y los miembros de los equipos (los llamados corredores internacionales que ya existen en varios países)», dijo la UEFA. «El hecho de que, de todos modos, los jugadores se sometan a pruebas periódicas como parte del Protocolo UEFA para el 'Regreso del Fútbol' relativo a la reanudación del fútbol debería garantizar que esas exenciones no representen ningún riesgo para la sociedad», incidió. La UEFA, además, «subrayó que los partidos deberían seguir adelante si no se pudieran obtener tales exenciones para algunos jugadores y que, por lo tanto, se les podría impedir viajar». Y apuntó que «las federaciones miembro también tendrían la opción de solicitar el traslado de un partido a una sede neutral si las condiciones internas actuales pudieran poner en peligro la organización del partido». La reunión por videoconferencia de este miércoles «forma parte del proceso de consulta que la UEFA está llevando a cabo en la actualidad, también en estrecha colaboración con las autoridades sanitarias y los gobiernos, para estudiar la viabilidad y el impacto de un posible regreso de los aficionados a los estadios en las competiciones de clubes y selecciones nacionales de la UEFA».
