French beauty secrets to delight in
When it comes to beauty, the French hold all the aces. As the days get shorter and darker, my skin care adjusts and it usually includes choices from my favorite French brands. I reach for the Cl de Peau Beaut Concealer. It has SPF 25, so it provides added protection. The matte but seamless finish covers dark spots and other imperfections. It contains the Illuminating Complex EX with precious platinum golden silk and pearl elements to moisturize the skin, and super hyaluronic acid to keep the skin supple. Another Cl de Peau Beaut bestseller is the Le Crme. With our current weather situation, one might consider switching to this moisturizer. It's an investment with its CeraFer...Keep on reading: French beauty secrets to delight in

‘Instead of lockdowns, tackle economic inequities’
Over 2.4 million Filipinos have had COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows how, over the past year, the daily number of new cases has skyrocketed year-over-year by nearly 1,000 percent from an approximate average of 2,000 cases per day in September 2020 to an approximate average of 20,000 by September 2021. Dr. Susana Quiaoit, the planning, development, education and research chief at the Quezon City General Hospital, points out how the rapid increase in cases was partly due to the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant last July. However, she believes that the proliferation of the Delta variant was simply a symp...Keep on reading: ‘Instead of lockdowns, tackle economic inequities’

Befriending the birds outside my window
For years, my windows were shut, my curtains always drawn. And they're blackout curtains, so they really kept the outside world out. I had no idea what was going on outside those windows, or even what the view was from my third-floor room. Life was too busy, it just wasn't something I thought about. The first time I touched those curtains during the pandemic was to let a few inches of sunlight in to serve as extra lighting for Zoom meetings and webinars. Then, I forgot about my windows again. As the pandemic went on and on, I would end up spending 95 percent of my time in my room. It was no longer just my bedroom; it became my office, my playground, my prison, my world.
