He has some script writer.Chelsea were defeated by emotion, fight and character on Ferguson’s big day. Frank Lampard’s side played well and will struggle to comprehend the margin of defeat, but they were up against a formidable obstacle in the shape of an Everton side playing for survival, for their reputations and for a club favourite standing, shaking and kicking every ball in his technical area. Tamal Ray’s alternative Christmas pudding recipe | Tamal Ray
A luxuriant, festive dessert with layers of sponge, praline, stewed cherry and hazelnut cream, all covered in a rich ganache and spun sugarYotam Ottolenghi’s alternative Christmas main courseI’ve always enjoyed Christmas pudding piping hot and swimming in cold cream. However, I can appreciate that after a month of mince pies, many of you have had enough of spiced raisins. This is an alternative for those of you seeking new inspiration: a delicate hazelnut mousse within a layer of port-soaked cherries, chocolate sponge, rich ganache and twinkling strands of spun sugar. With several different components to make, this isn’t the quickest of recipes, but it will be a favourite, especially for those who normally disappear at the mention of Christmas pudding. From cantatas to carols: the best classical Christmas albums of 2019
From small-scale Bach and Renaissance Spain to a poignant Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, there is festive uplift for all• On average nearly two dozen new Christmas-related CDs arrive each year. Is there any reason to add one to a collection? They fall into clear groups: major works, mainstream carols and themed compilations. Two accounts of Bach’s Magnificat are highly recommended: one from the lean, sprightly forces of Solomon’s Knot – Magnificat: Christmas in Leipzig (Sony) – coupled with unfamiliar works by two other Leipzig composers, Johann Schelle and Johann Kuhnau; the other from the meatier but still nimble French ensemble La Chapelle Harmonique, directed by Valentin Tournet (Château de Versailles Live), paired with Bach’s exuberant Christmas cantata BWV 63, Christen, ätzen diesen Tag (Christians, engrave this day). Stevie Nicks posted a heartfelt Facebook post about the 25-year-old, saying: “Alejandro, let me welcome you to the grand stage that will be your home for the rest of your extraordinary life.”So far, Aranda’s life has taken him from busking and playing back-garden parties in his home town of Pomona, California, to touring the US (Katy Perry joked that she’d like to be a roadie on the tour). Last month he released his debut album Exit Form, which has received plaudits for its expansive sound. On songs like Diamonds and Black Cross, he blends the moody, bold electro-rock of Nine Inch Nails with powerful and sincere vocals that bring to mind fellow Idol runner-up Adam Lambert.
