‘It’s Wild!’: Jon Stewart Sounds Off on Herschel Walker Abortion Scandal
YouTubeThe Problem with Jon Stewart doesn’t return to Apple TV+ for its second season until the end of this week, and yet somehow the former Daily Show host managed to beat every other current late-night host to the punch when he dug into The Daily Beast’s Herschel Walker abortion bombshell on his podcast Tuesday afternoon.Jon Stewart began by predicting that, as outrageous as the story about the anti-abortion Walker paying for an abortion in 2009 is, it might not be enough to tank his run for Senate in Georgia. “This guy has had so many ridiculous things and it’s all still like, ‘It’s within the margin of error,’” he remarked. “What are people voting on down there?”For the next few minutes, Stewart and his co-hosts Jay Jurden and Kasaun Wilson roasted Walker for leaving such a blatant trail. “He went to a card store and got one of those ‘Live, Laugh Love’ cards from Hallmark!” he joked before pivoting to bask in the drama the episode has wrought within Walker’s own family.Read more at The Daily Beast.

Herschel Walker Is Proof Character Doesn’t Count in Today’s GOP
Photo Illustration by Kelly Caminero/The Daily Beast/GettyThat didn’t take long. Less than 24 hours after The Daily Beast’s explosive report about Herschel Walker allegedly paying for an abortion, Republicans and anti-abortion rights groups are rallying behind the former football star turned politician.Ralph Reed, the former executive director of the Christian Coalition, told The New York Times that “he expected ‘100 percent’ that evangelical Christians would stick with Mr. Walker.” He’s probably right. Reed then compared the Walker revelations to Donald Trump’s Access Hollywood video, saying, “We’ve seen this movie before. They’re trying to take down a good man.”He’s right, again. We have seen this movie before. In 2016, we saw conclusive video evidence of Donald Trump saying vulgar things, including talking about grabbing women by their privates. Trump also said—again, this was on tape—“I did try and f*ck her. She was married.” Likewise, in 2022, we have receipts that allege Walker is likewise guilty of something that Christian conservatives ought not—but seem destined to—support or, at least, tolerate.Read more at The Daily Beast.
