Matthew Macfadyen Doesn’t Want to Talk About Jeremy Strong's New Yorker Profile

In an interview with Vanity Fair published this week, Macfayden bristled when he was asked about that controversial New Yorker profile of his co-star on the hit HBO drama, Jeremy Strong.When the in-depth interview with Strong came out back in December, it triggered a firestorm of Twitter takes on the actor’s, um, intense approach to playing Kendall Roy. The piece portrayed him as utterly humorless (the headline of the article is literally, “On Succession, Jeremy Strong Doesn’t Get the Joke”), attributing the actor’s Emmy-winning performance to his deep commitment to staying in his character’s tortured psyche.
