The ‘Cost of Living’ on Broadway Is Absolutely Worth It
Julieta CervantesWhat is not said, the many silences that pepper its structure, are just as important in Martyna Majok’s Pulitzer-winning play, Cost of Living (Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, to October 30), as what is said between its four characters: John (Gregg Mozgala), a graduate student with cerebral palsy, Jess (Kara Young, recently Tony-nominated for Clyde’s), a bartender who becomes his caregiver, Eddie (David Zayas), a nervy unemployed truck driver, and Ani (Katy Sullivan), his quadriplegic ex-wife. In this excellent Manhattan Theatre Club production, Mozzgala and Sullivan (a U.S. athletic champion, as well as an actor) are reprising their roles on Broadway, having originated them at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2016 and off-Broadway in 2017.It is Eddie that begins the play sitting in front of us, twinkling lights and a shelf of illuminated bottles behind him, a gruff and blokey fish out of water in a Brooklyn hipster bar. “The shit that happens is not to be understood. That’s from the Bible. The shit that happens to you is Not To Be Understood,” he says. Something tragic has happened, he indicates, so what does he do now.Read more at The Daily Beast.

This LG Smart Fridge Is the Tesla of Refrigerators
Scouted/The Daily Beast/LG.Scouted selects products independently. If you purchase something from our posts, we may earn a small commission.I never thought I would be the type of person with a home full of smart appliances and devices—I’ve lived in un-remodeled 1920s apartment buildings for most of my adult life. In fact, my last two refrigerators were the outdated white models that were probably made in the 1990s. This all changed when I moved to Texas into a more contemporary home with updated fixtures *and* with a partner who believes basically everything in our home should be Google and Alexa compatible. His obsession with smart light bulbs, TV controls... you name it... piqued our interest in smart refrigerators. As a longtime LG fan, the first place I looked was its website to conduct some research. I was lucky enough to be sent the brand’s next-level 24 cu. ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator to check out for consideration, and as I had expected, it blew my expectations (which were already pretty high) out of the water.
