Is it OK to be 420 friendly on main?
It's 4/20 baby!!! It's Saturday, you're lit, brain perfectly calibrated to toasted, sparking your joy, blowing smoke rings so on point it feels criminal not to share on your Instagram story. But something stops you from posting. And it probably sounds like the voice of your D.A.R.E. teacher yelling about how posting pictures of pot online can get you arrested and ruin your career. "Even if you just post one picture, it comes back," said Anjela, who is very much not a D.A.R.E. teacher. Score an entire suite of creative design apps for only $40
We're not about to make assumptions here, but we'd wager that the starving artist myth is partially perpetuated by the fact that design programs are so darn expensive. A subscription to a single app alone can sometimes require you to fork out hundreds of dollars you don't have. We don't know about you, but that's plain robbery. You don't have to put yourself in the red just to score apps that will help you perform a variety of design jobs. The Corel Creative Mac Bundle includes an entire creative design app suite from one of the leading software makers with a few surprise bonuses. And you only have to pay $40 to get the whole set. These wireless fitness earbuds are over $100 cheaper than Powerbeats
Wireless earbuds seem to be everywhere now, bulky wires gone the way of the audio port. (RIP.) That goes double for the new Powerbeats, the new Apple earbuds that are meant to be a sporty alternative to AirPods. SEE ALSO: 10 of the best wireless headphones, according to Amazon reviews But Powerbeats are fairly pricey, especially for folks unaccustomed to the jacked-up pricing of wireless listening tech. No wonder, because one look at Apple's official store reveals that the now vintage EarPods are $29.99 — in comparison to the average $200 at which the Powerbeats currently retail.  If you're a penny-pinching tech lover, that price difference is a steep premium to pay for a few moments as part of the tech "it" crowd. Zuckerberg could be held personally accountable for Facebook data breaches
The federal government wants to hold Mark Zuckerberg personally accountable for Facebook’s privacy woes. According to a report in the Washington Post, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is currently investigating Facebook and looking into whether the Facebook’s founder and CEO should be held liable for the company’s data mishandling and privacy issues.  Facebook and the FTC have been in discussions for more than a year over the agency’s probe into the company. Sources familiar with these discussions say that the FTC is mulling over an unusual decision to hold Zuckerberg himself accountable for the company’s data leaks and breaches.  Read more...More about Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Data Breach, Ftc, and Federal Trade Commission

As Ars Technica pointed out, the captions leave a lot to be desired.  Watch the original video below with the captions turned on.  In case you missed it, here are a few of the more choice errors made in the captions.  In this case, the caption should have read, "and we have lift off of the Antares NG-11 mission." Watch the stunning trailer for 'When They See Us,' Ava DuVernay's Central Park Five series
Netflix has released the official trailer for When They See Us, the four-part miniseries from Ava DuVernay that tells the story of the Central Park Five, five young black men wrongly convicted of rape and murder in New York City in 1989.  According to Netflix, the series will cover the entire 25 years between the April 19, 1989 murder of Trisha Meili and the 2014 settlement between New York City and the five men — Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise — who spent years in jail for crimes they didn't commit.  The Hollywood Reporter notes the series will show the events from the perspective of those five young men. Google bans embedded in-app sign-ins to curb phishing attacks
Google is taking a big step to fight phishing attempts on its users. In a post on the company’s security blog, Google’s Product Manager of Account Security Jonathan Skelker announced that the search giant will begin to block account sign-ins from embedded browsers within applications. The problem with embedded browsers, as Skelker lays out, is that it leaves Google’s users susceptible to phishing attacks from bad actors.  Previously, third-party developers could add web browser instances, like the Chromium Embedded Framework, to their apps. This allowed users to log into a service with their existing Google account without having to sign-up for a fresh account on a brand new platform. What it’s like to be Pornhub's social media manager
Managing a brand’s social media is tricky for anyone in 2019, and it’s even more challenging if you’re the social voice (and face) of Pornhub, the web’s most popular porn site. We spoke with Aria Nathaniel about the fine line she walks at the office each day. Boasting a whopping 6 million followers on Instagram and 1.25 million on Twitter, Pornhub has amassed extensive reach on social media channels. Late-game fart wreaks havoc on Philadelphia 76ers bench
The Philadelphia 76ers just learned that a high-pressure situation like the NBA Playoffs can cause the body to do weird things, like dropping stink bombs on the bench. Midway through the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game between the 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets, TNT's camera cut to the bench for a glimpse of Philadelphia star Joel Embiid, who was out with a knee injury. But instead of finding Embiid and teammates deep in thought, the camera found a group of players reeling from what was probably one hell of a bad fart. Zhaire Smith, on the far left, can be seen waving away the odious air before it reaches Embiid (gray blazer and white shirt) who can only pull the old shirt-as-gas-mask approach to protect himself.  Read more...More about Nba, Fart, Culture, and Sports

The top 15 'Scream' franchise kills, ranked
Excuse the morbidity of what I'm about to say — and if you hate slasher flicks and/or spoilers, you may want to stop reading now — but I love, love, love the Scream franchise.  My feelings ring true for all slasher films — even if they're bad, which a lot of them are — but there's something extra-wonderful about the Scream movies. The cast, the fashion, the music, the unbridled dedication to reviving the genre ... it's the epitome of quintessential '90s campiness. All four films thrive by playing tension-heavy guessing games that vary from who will die next to the identity of the serial killer dubbed Ghostface. Yet there are moments of tangible satire, introspection, and pop culture reflectiveness amid the bloody horror.  Read more...More about Entertainment, Scream, Scream Movie, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Leslie Jones and Seth Meyers watch the 'Game of Thrones' premiere and it's delightful
There are fewer things more delightful than Leslie Jones' level of Game if Thrones super-fandom and now that the show is back, so are Jones' amazing reactions to the twists and turns of Westeros.  Just like she did for Season 7, Jones joined Seth Meyers for his Late Night bit "Game of Jones" in which the pair are filmed watching the show and, once again, Jones doesn't disappoint. Within moments, she prompts Meyers to say, "Game of Thrones is confusing enough without you immediately saying you gotta get that ass." Jones screams Arya's name and says things like, "You'd better never trust me with a dragon. They shoot fire and fly? That means I'm gonna do drive-bys every weekend, son!" But be sure to watch all the way to the end when Jones reacts to that Jamie Lannister-Bran Stark stare. Read more...More about Game Of Thrones, Leslie Jones, Seth Meyers, Culture, and Game Of Thrones

Sorry iPhone X owners, but Pixel takes way better Aurora photos
It was dark and my feet were freezing, despite my winter boots and Alaska-themed wool socks. Up on a hillside, the city lights of Anchorage far below, I saw a milky sheen striped across the sky. Were those the Northern Lights I had been looking for?  I turned my Pixel 2 sideways and tapped open the camera app. The screen was a pixelated black. I swiped to Night Sight. The display didn’t look any better. I pressed the crescent moon on Night Sight’s camera button and held still, as I'd been told.  The milky sheen transformed into a bright green. The outline of a snow-spotted mountain emerged. My phone had captured more light from the Aurora Borealis than I could see with my own eyes.  Read more...More about Aurora Borealis, Pixel, Night Sight, Iphone X, and Pixel 2

Teen YouTubers fake a pregnancy and then offer a very lame apology — and bad sex ed advice
Two teenage YouTubers were the subject of concern this week after they announced they were expecting a baby and had gotten "married" in Las Vegas. After dragging their followers through a four-part, monetized series, they revealed that it was just a "prank" and issued a very YouTuber non-apology for coming off as insensitive.   Danielle Cohn, who goes by Dani, is 15 years old. Her boyfriend and fellow influencer, Mikey Tua, is 16. After dropping cryptic hints throughout the weekend, Mikey posted a hidden camera video of the couple telling their families that Dani was pregnant.  They raised eyebrows when the two posted a later video of their "wedding" in Las Vegas — which Dani's mother clarified in a statement to BuzzFeed as only the two making a "promise" since Dani is too young to be legally married, even with parental consent. In the third installment, they visited a questionable doctor's office for an "ultrasound" to find out the sex of the hypothetical baby and listen to Mikey's father lecture them on responsibilities.  Read more...More about Influencers, Culture, and Web Culture
