Dashcam captures man riding a Lime scooter on the highway during rush hour
You think your commute is bad? Imagine being stuck behind some clown who either craves danger or made a wrong left turn at the juice bar.  Taking eco-friendly transport to the extreme, dashcam footage captured a commuter on a Lime scooter making his way downtown, not so fast, on I-35 in Dallas, Texas, just before 9 a.m. on Monday.  "What? Bro, are you on a Bird scooter on the highway? Bro! What are you doing? Bro!" yells someone driving behind the scooter in the video.  The rider even switches lane, from the far left to the far right lane. It's worth mentioning that the electric rental scooter has a top speed of about 15 mph. The speed limit on I-35 is 70 mph, according to local news outlet Fox 4 News.  Read more...More about Viral Video, Texas, Dashcam, Limebike, and Culture

2019 iPhones Said to Feature Revamped Taptic Engine and Front-Facing Slo-Mo Video Recording
Apple is widely expected to unveil a trio of new iPhones in September, and 9to5Mac has revealed a few new features we can expect. First, the report claims all three models will feature a revamped Taptic Engine codenamed "leap haptics," but it is unknown what will be different. 2019 iPhones are expected to ship without 3D Touch, with Apple moving to long-press-based context menus in iOS 13, so there could be related hardware changes. In addition, the report says the front-facing camera on 2019 iPhones will gain support for slo-mo video recording at 120 frames per second. Beyond that, the report corroborates some previous rumors. For example, the rumored wide-angle lens on higher-end 2019 iPhones is expected to enable users to automatically repair a photo or a video to fit in a subject that may have accidentally been cut off from the initial shot, as Bloomberg previously reported. Earlier this year, reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said 2019 iPhones will also feature larger batteries to accommodate a two-way charging feature that would allow accessories like AirPods or an Apple Watch to charge on the back of the iPhone. Apple's annual iPhone event is likely just over six weeks away.Related Roundup: 2019 iPhonesTag: Taptic EngineThis article, "2019 iPhones Said to Feature Revamped Taptic Engine and Front-Facing Slo-Mo Video Recording" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

The shocks keep coming in the Super League relegation battle | Gavin Willacy
London Broncos’ victory over St Helens means the bottom five clubs are separated by just two points with six games to playBy Gavin Willacy for No Helmets RequiredAnd breathe! This Super League relegation battle is getting ridiculous. Defeats for Leeds, Wakefield and Hull KR, coupled with victories for Huddersfield and London means the bottom five are now separated by just two points, with six games to go. Thank goodness we have next weekend off to settle the nerves. The bottom of the table Broncos’ 32-12 victory over table-topping Saints may have seemed a shock to those not following things too closely, but for the 2,087 inside Ealing Trailfinders it was anything but. Edging a tight first half 14-6, the Broncos clung on when Saints – and in particular half-back Danny Richardson – started to sparkle after half-time, closing the gap to two points, only to pull away towards the close with two late tries. From #TelegramGate to #RickyLeaks: Puerto Rico is on
Two weeks ago, Puerto Rico's Center for Investigative Journalism published one of the most consequential investigative stories in the island's history: a trove of leaked private Telegram chats between Governor Ricardo Rossello and his most senior advisors and officials, in which the group use crude, homophobic and misogynist labels to mock and degrade opposition figures, Puerto Rican celebrities, and the people of Puerto Rico as they struggled with the aftermath of hurricanes Maria and Irma, left to swelter and die by a local and national government that had abandoned them. Since then, Puerto Rico has been roiled by mass demonstrations, initially calling for Rossello's resignation, but now for deep, structural reforms to an island whose long history has been one of colonial occupation, oppression, and looting. The protests have been led by feminists and queer activists, supported by the likes of Ricky Martin, a beloved, gay Puerto Rican pop star who was targeted for homophobic slurs in the leaks. As they've gained strength, the protests have drawn out more and more people from all walks of life -- with the vanguard still made up by political radicals who will not accept cosmetic compromises. The Puerto Rican government has responded with riot squads and violent suppression, in a spectacular miscalculation that has only brought out more people. To make things worse, the police appear to have manufactured a casus belli by setting off fireworks behind their lines, a fraud so transparent that it has robbed them of any credibility they had left. Apple’s ‘iPhone 11’ reportedly includes Lightning port, new Taptic Engine, and updated front-facing camera
Photo by James Bareham / The Verge Apple is reportedly planning to release three new “iPhone 11” models this fall that will include the existing Lightning connector. 9to5Mac reports that these new iPhones will include Apple’s latest A13 chip and a new Taptic Engine that’s codenamed “leap haptics.” There aren’t many details about what this new Taptic Engine will provide, but it’s clearly going to replace the 3D Touch feature that looks like it’s on its way out. We’ve seen a number of leaks focus on the cameras in the iPhone 11 previously, and Apple is expected to use a triple-camera system on its OLED iPhone 11 models. 9to5Mac backs up previous rumors that the extra space in the rear camera system will accommodate a wide-angle camera. This new camera will also enable a new Smart Frame feature, which will reportedly capture the area around the framed part of a picture so you can adjust the framing and perspective. The front-facing camera on the iPhone 11 will also reportedly get upgraded to make it capable of capturing in slo-mo at 120 fps. Apple is expected to keep the same display resolutions as the existing iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, and these new models look set to simply replace Apple’s current lineup. We’re less than two months away from Apple likely unveiling these updated handsets, so expect to hear a lot more rumors about the software and hardware aspects in the coming weeks.
