This security camera uses facial recognition to give you some privacy
A typical security camera can give you peace of mind. But that might be offset by the nagging feeling that it's watching you, too. The best kind of security system is one that protects both your home and your privacy, and the blurams Dome Pro 1080p Security Camera is one rare model that's set up to do both. The HD lens on the blurams is equipped with a 360º field of vision, and it can be set to record any preset area with an Auto-Cruise mode. All footage is uploaded to the cloud, and you can choose to get alerts on any unauthorized motion or human detection - even in the dimmest conditions, thanks to the night vision functionality. You can even record your own alert video. But all the while, you get to decide what areas get recorded and who sets off alerts. The blurams' voice and facial recognition technology can distinguish between pets or authorized family members to avoid false alarms. Want to keep some privacy? The camera can even be set to cover up and shut down when it detects you. You can even set up your own house-wide security system and view up to four cameras on the accompanying app. Right now, the blurams Dome Pro 1080p Security Camera with Facial Recognition + Night Vision is 16% off the regular MSRP, but you can take an extra 15% off that final price by using the online code BFSAVE15, for a final price of $42.49. Indiana judges suspended after 3 a.m. brawl at White Castle
Three Indiana judges got in a fight. Two were injured, all were suspended. NPR's Laurel Wamsley reports "an incident brimming with colorful details." The altercation apparently started sometime after 3 a.m., when one of the judges, Sabrina Bell, raised a middle finger at two men yelling from a passing SUV, and ended after one of those men shot two of the judges. In between, the three judges took a number of actions that "discredited the entire Indiana judiciary," according to an opinion posted by the Indiana Supreme Court this week, suspending the judges. The court found that the three — Andrew Adams, Bradley Jacobs and Sabrina Bell — had "engaged in judicial misconduct by appearing in public in an intoxicated state and behaving in an injudicious manner and by becoming involved in a verbal altercation." Adams and Jacobs engaged in further judicial misconduct "by becoming involved in a physical altercation for which Judge Adams was criminally charged and convicted." The judges will be in the sin bin for two months. The shooter's been charged with felony aggravated battery. Read the rest

How to wear a big easy coat | Jess Cartner-Morley
It works best when the supersized volume is offset by minimal styling – a neutral colour and not too much detailingA coat that you love is the best fashion investment you can make. Your coat is what you put on as you leave the house on a cold morning. It is what stands between you and the outside world when the outside world is at its least friendly. A great party dress for a fun night out is the icing on a cake – but cake is delicious anyway. A great coat, on the other hand, is a cup of tea and a jaffa cake when you are cold and tired and hungry. It goes without saying that practicality is paramount. But a great coat isn’t just a coat that keeps you warm, it’s a coat that makes you feel great. It is this that differentiates a great coat from a perfectly serviceable coat. The days when life feels a bit as though you are walking uphill into the wind are the days when you most need a reminder of the poetry to be found in a slice of blue sky, a free Pret coffee, or the comfort of a soft collar flipped up against the elements. The Deshaun Watson vs. Lamar Jackson rivalry is BACK
Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson first faced off when Clemson and Louisville played in 2016. If Texans-Ravens is anything like when the two QBs faced off in college in 2016, we’re in for a treat. The hype surrounding the Week 11 game between the Texans and Ravens is real, and it’s all because of Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson, two of the NFL’s most electrifying quarterbacks. The two young stars are having the best seasons of their careers so far in 2019. Both are in the top 10 in league passer rating, and they’re the first quarterbacks in NFL history with at least 15 passing touchdowns, five or more rushing touchdowns, and a 100+ passer rating over the first nine games of a season. Watson and Jackson have helped turn the idea of what traditional NFL quarterbacks are supposed to look like completely on its head. And now, we get to see them go head to head for the first time in the NFL. Another reason to be fired up for this matchup is because of what happened the first time these two played each other. The last time Watson and Jackson met on the field was an instant classic. On Oct. 1, 2016, Jackson led No. 3 Louisville into Tiger Stadium to face Watson and fifth-ranked Clemson. Both teams entered undefeated, and both quarterbacks were making their mark in college football. Jackson was having a breakout season as a sophomore, and was an early Heisman frontrunner. Watson was a household name at this point. He was a was a Heisman finalist that prior season and led his team to the national championship game in 2015. The game lived up to the hype, to say the least. Watson was phenomenal in the first half, throwing for 189 yards and three touchdowns in the second quarter alone, including a 37-yard bomb to Deon Cain: It was all Tigers in the first half. Watson’s team went into the locker room with a 28-10 lead. But Jackson, who was anointed as college football’s new Superman that season, wouldn’t let his team go down without a fight. He led his offense to five unanswered scoring drives, and he had this magical run that set up a touchdown run to give his team a 36-28 lead halfway through the fourth quarter. Watson bounced back from a career-high three interceptions and a fumble and took over in the final seven minutes of the game. He threw two touchdown passes within four minutes of each other to give the Tigers a 42-36 lead. Jackson came close to scoring a game-winning touchdown, but on fourth down his receiver James Quick was literally a yard short, apparently mistaking where the first-down marker was: Since this game, both quarterbacks have built their own legacies. Watson was the Heisman runner-up at the end of the season and led his team to a second consecutive national title game. This time, Clemson defeated Alabama 35-31 for the Tigers’ first national championship in 35 years. Watson was electric in that game, throwing for 420 yards and three touchdowns to win Offensive MVP honors. After declaring for the NFL Draft, he was selected 12th overall by the Houston Texans. While his rookie season was cut short due to an ACL tear, he led the Texans to the playoffs in his second season. He currently has the Texans in first place in the AFC South, and he’s putting up MVP-worthy numbers so far. He’s been a human highlight reel throughout his NFL career, and that continues to be the case this season. One of his most impressive highlights from 2019 was when he threw a touchdown pass after he literally got kicked in the face: .@DeshaunWatson is unbelievable. #WeAreTexans: CBS: NFL app // Yahoo Sports appWatch free on mobile: https://t.co/a16R5wPShJ pic.twitter.com/f2Fss30161— NFL (@NFL) October 27, 2019 Meanwhile, Jackson became the youngest player to win the Heisman in 2016, after effectively setting the college football world on fire. He put up even better numbers in 2017 and was a Heisman finalist, but was beat out by fellow first-round draft pick Baker Mayfield. Jackson was the fifth quarterback drafted, taken by the Ravens at No. 32 overall in 2018. During his rookie year, he took over for Joe Flacco as the starter midseason, and led the Ravens to a playoff appearance. Like Watson, he’s an obvious MVP candidate this season. Jackson is on pace to break Michael Vick’s single-season quarterback record of 1,039 yards rushing, too. Jackson does something incredible every week, pretty much. During the Ravens’ Week 10 game against the Bengals, he had a spin move that looked like it was only possible in a video game: LAMAR JACKSON IS A GLITCH #SCtop10(via @NFL)pic.twitter.com/ZsJlpTEYjr— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) November 10, 2019 BRB — rewatching that play another three times. Although they haven’t played each other since 2016, both QBs have a mutual respect for one another’s games. It’s been a few years since these two faced off, but neither quarterback has forgotten about that game. “He was just dicing us down the field. He was just doing Deshaun Watson things — scoring touchdowns, making incredible throws, and they came out with the victory,” Jackson said leading up to their first NFL matchup. “I can’t wait to see him again.” Jackson has successfully silenced the doubters who thought he couldn’t be a true NFL quarterback. Watson added that he’s been supportive of Jackson in that respect. “I’m a proud quarterback, proud friend,” Watson said when asked about Jackson. “All the criticism he was getting when he was coming out, he’s definitely a guy that I’ve always encouraged and talked to in the offseason. I’ve always been — since college days, when we played against each other, I’ve always been friends with him. He’s a guy that’s been doing everything that all the naysayers have said he couldn’t do, and even more. His career is very, very bright and he’s going to continue to do great things.” Even though both are dual-threats, the two don’t have the exact same playing styles. In fact, Jackson rebuffed when he was asked if he sees himself in the older Watson. “No, I play Lamar Jackson ball,” Jackson said. “I don’t play nobody else ball.” QBs aside, this matchup has pretty big AFC and playoff implications. Not only are these two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but they play for two of the AFC’s top teams. The Ravens and Texans are first in their respective division. As it stands currently, Baltimore would be a No. 2 seed in the AFC, whereas Houston is a projected No. 3 seed. While both the Ravens and Texans won division titles last year, they lost in the first round of the playoffs. This year, each team is looking to take the next step with its MVP candidate quarterback leading the way. Jackson and Watson have done everything to meet the high expectations they faced coming into the league. Hopefully, this is their first NFL matchup of many more to come.

A Pokemon Sword/Shield draft, because we are a sports website
Photo by David McNew/Getty Images Gotta draft ‘em all! Pokemon. Domesticated animals trained to fight for the amusement of humans in an alt-history hellscape where children are forced from their houses in their preteens to capture and battle others under the guise of growth into adulthood. It’s perfect and we love it! This week we will experience Pokemon Sword/Shield, the latest in the series. Being the avid sportspeople we are, and thriving on competition at the expense of others we decided to draft a six Pokemon team made entirely of Pokemon which are returning to the series. We were not allowed to draft the only returning legendary Pokemon (Mew), and were given the freedom to draft to our heart. Here is what we did. Brittany Cheng Lucario, 10. Hydregion, 11. Gardevoir, 20. Bewear, 21. Gengar, 30. Lapras The moment I signed up for this, I was stressed — especially because I’ve been AWOL from the Pokemon world after Gen 4. Thankfully a mix of Silph Road message boards, Quora replies, and the kindness of a top Pokemon expert from our sister gaming website, Polygon, helped me select the best team. I got lucky, too. If Zion Williamson is on the board, why wouldn’t I take him first? I don’t need to defend my other picks; I know I already won the draft since my No. 1 pick made my boss react “OH FUCK YOU.” Graham: Honestly I’m not sure that spending your first pick in the draft deliberately spiting your boss is a good career choice. James: I’d burn you, but I’ve never seen someone so stressed out about the basic concept of drafting Pokemon. Sorry to break the fourth wall for our readers, but you were definitely wracked with anxiety every time your pick came back up. I don’t want you to endure that pain so I love your draft. Good picks. Zero problems. Christian: Would eat: Lapras. Wouldn’t eat: everyone else. Matt: Gardevoir is definitely on Tik Tok so I’m upset to miss it for my team of social media All-Stars. Also shouts to Britt for drafting Graham’s favorite Pokemon No. 1 and sending this draft in chaos mode from the get-go. Graham MacAree 2. Aegislash, 9. Toxapex, 12. Charizard, 19. Ferrothorn, 22. Togekiss, 29. Weaville Aegislash gives a strong counter to Lucario at 1.1 and can sweep with Swords Dance while using King’s Shield to disrupt any physical attackers taken later. The rest of the Pokemon were taken with roles plus type composition in mind, with something of an eye towards specific checks: Toxapex can deal with James’ Tyranitar, Scald physical attackers and sit as a very difficult defensive barrier. Charizard gives some versatility with its different mega-evolution forms and wide moveset, but will mostly be used as a drought-powered special wallbreaker. Ferrothorn is another answer to Tyranitar plus can set Stealth Rock and stall with Leech Seed/protect. Togekiss running Defog is not an ideal hazard clearer but the available Pokemon who can use Defog or Rapid Spin is astonishingly low. Can also help with team status and go for flinch locks. Weaville is here as a fast revenge killer, if necessary, and gives some type coverage we were missing with Pursuit. Aegislash can do most of the hard work and, given the Pokemon available, I think the rest of the team balances and supports it well enough. I’m a little worried about that Gengar on Britt’s team, though, and there’s also no clean way to bring in Pokemon through pivot moves. Prediction and smart play, as always will be key. James: Nerd. Britt: Nerd. Christian: Would eat: Charizard, Togekiss. Wouldn’t eat: everyone else. Matt: Charizard is the only real Pokemon on this list in my opinion. Also, nerd. James Dator 3. Tyranitar, 8. Wishiwashi, 13. Mimikyu, 18. Drampa, 23. Sawk, 28. Vikavolt I’m not going to sit here and tell you my team is perfect. I’m not going to tell you they’re a top-tier team of killers and world-ruiners, but I will say that they make me happy. In the end that’s all that matters. Tyranitar is my beefy thick boy to hold down the fort, while also offering that excellent rock/dark type to get me through some early fights. Mimikyu is my sad pokemon, which is personally important to me, considering my natural proclivity for Psyduck. Wishiwashi is the pick I know people will criticize, but he’s my Rudy, my Hail Mary. I really like the Pokemon who go from zero-to-hero like watching an episode of Queer Eye, but with Wishiwashi it’ll hit school form and become a murderer in one battle — not like waiting on a sad-ass Magikarp to get its act together. Britt: I offered to trade you Bewear for Wishiwashi, so you deserve all the burns you get. Christian: I bet I could eat all these Pokemen. Maybe not Vikavolt. Matt: Tyranitar is def a bully who gets likes on IG because people are afraid of it, so I’m upset to not have it on my socia media team. Also Wishiwashi is a hilarious name. Proud of it. Christian D’Andrea 4. Mamoswine, 7. Mudsdale, 14. Unfezant, 17. Pelipper, 24. Vanilluxe , 27. Wobbuffet I have never played Pokemon, but we needed a fifth for the draft. My picks were solely based on how much I’d like to eat each of these characters. With a bottom-two pick, I invested solely in winning the “most delicious” crown. Mamoswine: Half pig, half mammoth. You remember the opening credits for the Flintstones? This is where those car-destroying ribs came from. Mudsdale: I could only find one cow-looking Pokemon (Tauros), and he wasn’t eligible for selection. I’m gonna have to settle for horse steaks instead. And since this thing is half Clydesdale, I’m gonna have a ton of them. Unfezant: The most spatchcockable Pokemon on the board. Can’t believe he lasted to the third round. Plus you can save all that unfezant fat and fry potatoes in them afterward. Pelipper: I kinda choked on this one. I thought this was a giant, fat, belligerent chicken, like Foghorn Leghorn (delicious). Instead it’s a pelican. I bet I could still eat it! Vanilluxe: It’s literally ice cream. Most obvious pick of the day. Wobbuffet: BUFFET IS RIGHT THERE IN THE NAME What’re you guys gonna do when your Pokemen fall in battle? Bury them solemnly? Pretend like nothing happened? I’m gonna eat like a goddamn king. Britt: I told you to draft Oddish for a balanced diet. Better check your arteries and cholesterol. Christian: The idea of eating a radish is by far the most unrealistic thing to happen in this draft. Matt: Why are we eating Pokemon again? I’m concerned and I think I have to call the police? Actually, you can eat Wobbuffet. Matt Ellentuck 5. Milotic, 6. Gyrados, 15. Machamp, 16. Ninetails, 25. Snorlax, 26, Ludicolo I had very important criteria for my picks. I selected the six who I felt would make the strongest social media team, and I’ll explain why. My first two picks were Milotic and Gyrados because they are both hot sea monsters. That means they’ll get a lot of likes on IG. Then I picked Machamp because it’d make a dope fitness account, and Ninetails because it definitely wears designer clothes for the ‘Gram. Snorlax is, without a doubt, a depressed meme poster. And Ludicolo def gets WILD on main. He’ll get a lot of “SIR” reply tweets, but hey, engagement is engagement. That’s a damn squad right there. Graham: While drafting entirely for Pokemon hotness is a fun goof it also raises some concerns about ... well, a lot of things. James: While drafting entirely for Pokemon hotness is a fun goof it also raises my opinion and value of you as both a coworker and a person. Live your truth. Graham: Yeah, James is right. No* judgement. Christian: I don’t want to eat any of these sexy Pokemen. Britt: Matt, you’re on cancellation watch.

It's time to kick your adult children off of your family phone plan — here's how to do it right
d3sign / Getty Images There's a large group of adult Americans who are still on their family's phone plans. Some do it to save money, while for others it's just a habit. When you decide to sever the phone plan, have a conversation early on; it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Let adults still on the plan make their case for the benefits of staying on, and help them find a new plan if you decide separating is the right call.  Once you make the choice, don't back down. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. Bryan Kuderna is a pretty successful guy. A bestselling author, Kuderna is a certified financial planner from Shrewsbury, New Jersey who caters to millennials. But you wouldn't know it from his phone bill. The 32-year-old father of three also just got off his parents' cell phone plan after more than a decade. His 34-year-old brother Jeff is still on it, while his sister-in-law is also on her parent's plan.  The Kuderna "kids" are among a large group of Americans who are sharing mobile phone plans well into adulthood. For some, it's to save money, and for others (like Kuderna's family) it's just habit — something they've done for years. "I'd been on their plan since I was 16 or 17," said Kuderna. "It's one of those things that goes on autopilot and it's hard to break. It's costly to start a new plan, and you lose those perks like unlimited minutes and texts." But not everyone is sharing a mobile plan for the right reasons, and that's where families run into trouble. Sometimes parents keep their adult children on their plans to stay connected, while in other instances it's the child who may be taking advantage of a parent's generosity. Blame it on laziness or a lack of direction, but some young adults expect their parents to pay for everything until they get the boot. "I have a lot of clients in that situation. They have the greatest of intentions as parents, but it's not having the right results. It's enabling their children to stay home," said Kuderna. Either way, sharing a cell phone plan well into adulthood can be a disservice to everyone involved. Not to mention, it can also cause family strife if one person on the plan is less responsible than others.  "Sharing family mobile phone plans can be harmful if adult children incur extra charges and fees for which parents will be held financially responsible," said money coach Melisa Boutin. "That's a major downside that parents should be aware of." Whatever the reason, when it comes time to go your separate mobile ways, there are both good ways and bad ways to go about it. If you want to remain family and friends, follow these four steps.Step 1: Start the conversation early Hero Images/Getty Images Kuderna said a good time to start the conversation is before the child becomes an adult. The sooner they know they will be responsible for certain bills and how much it will cost, the better prepared they'll be when the time comes. "The kids will know that once they graduate, it isn't free in perpetuity," said Kuderna.  If your child has already graduated college and is in the workforce, begin planting the seeds a few months before you want to cut the cord so that everyone has time to adjust. Nobody likes surprises, nor do they want to find out they are responsible for a monthly bill that can easily surpass $100 per month. Cutting your adult child off your phone plan without any warning is not the recipe for harmony and peace — it's more apt to elicit the reverse effect.  "Warn the child that on this date we're cutting you loose," said Varda Epstein, a parenting expert and mother to 12 children. Step 2: Let them make their case Betsie Van Der Meer/Getty Adult children aren't always looking for a free ride. Many want to be independent, but life has a funny way of getting in the way. For some, it's student loans that may be hampering their ability to become contributing adults. For others, they haven't found a high enough paying job to make it on their own. Before you kick them off your mobile phone plan, let them make their case. They may have a legitimate reason why they can't afford the bill.  "I think we have all heard too many stories of lazy adult children who refuse to support themselves, but in my experience, kids do want to become independent of their parents, and if they need a little help getting there, parents should feel good about helping however they can," said Epstein.  Kuderna, who is also the author of "Millennial Millionaire" and host of The Kuderna Podcast, was ready to get out of the house when he graduated from college, but his parents, knowing a little bit about the real world, reined him in. Instead of going out and wasting money on rent, he hunkered down at home, started saving, and was able to purchase a home a few years later. Kuderna remained on the family cell phone plan, and only recently decided to get off of it  because he wanted to go on a plan with his wife, Anita.  Step 3: Help them find a new plan d3sign/Getty Images The last thing any parent wants to do is leave their children struggling to pay their bills — particularly when those children may have high student loan tabs and other debts. On the flipside, some parents may feel it's high time to throw some more of life's responsibilities toward their kids once they see what their children elect to spend their money on. Either way, when you do cut mobile ties, try to work with the child to help them find a new plan that makes financial sense. "This can involve calling your current mobile phone service provider to transfer the adult child's phone plan to an individual account," said Boutin.  See the rest of the story at Business InsiderSee Also:Let's face it: Group birthday dinners suck. Bugs in Qualcomm chips leaked private data from Samsung and LG phones
Researchers have disclosed a set of vulnerabilites affecting Qualcomm chipsets that could allow a potential attacker to steal critical information. The findings — published by cybersecurity vendor Check Point Research — reveal the ‘secure world’ present in Qualcomm CPUs, that powers most Android phones, suffer from a flaw which may “lead to leakage of protected data, device rooting, bootloader unlocking, and execution of undetectable APTs [Advanced Persistent Threats].” The findings were originally revealed by Checkpoint at REcon Montreal earlier this June, a computer security conference with a focus on reverse engineering and advanced exploitation techniques.
